Off to a Knit Shop

Next week, Skyelar and I are off to look at a Knitting Store.  I remember going with my Mom to a knit shop in Grand Junction.  It was downtown.  Several, what I thought  were "old" ladies ran it.  It was run out of their house and they seemed to have yarn and cats everywhere.  Ladies, cats, yarn and laughter are my memories.  I never became the knitter my Mom was.  But I have always loved to visit knit stores.

Knitting

I don't remember a time when my Mom was not working on a knitting project.  In the 60's and 70's we made many, many sweaters.  Any kind and  yarn, we would give it a try. My Dad, Brother and later my husband and small daughters would be wearing our creations.  We rode in cars, on trains and airplanes knitting away.  As a young mother I always had my knitting, as my Mom had had, to keep me company while waiting on music lessons, soccer practice, or any activity that I might have a spare moment.  I would knit.
